A room with a view in Gordon’s Bay
64A room with a view in Gordon’s Bay
Gordon's Bay is situated right on the Cape Peninsula with the cold Atlantic ocean and white beaches - not too far from Cape Town.
Planning a holiday in Cape Town & surrounding areas is a must have experience. Finally landing at Cape Town International and making your way to your booked accommodation the ultimate.
Standing on the balcony trying to breathe in the fresh air, a breeze carrying the ocean air into the house, salty and cool. You start to relax and realize that the holiday of a lifetime is about to begin.
Unpacking your suitcase has never been a pleasurable experience, but you've never had such breathtaking views over the whole of Gordon's Bay and the ocean from every room in the house. You finish up and look in the Tourist Guide book for something to do.
A decision to take a walk on the beach will have you driving down a steep hill - or you could be brave and walk down the hill!
The sand would be soft and still warm from the sun. The ocean icy cold. A few beachgoers would be lingering after the warmest part of the day have passed. It is quiet and peaceful - as only the Cape can be. A shell shop on your route might grab your attention.
The shells are hanging on the walls, display cabinets and from the ceiling. These beautiful shells in chandeliers, mobiles and statues are inexpensive enough for you to take a few home.
Next on the route is a quaint restaurant with a view of the Gordon's Bay beach front. You might want to try waiting for the sun to set in the Cape with a cocktail in hand... but soon you will discover that the sun sets much later.
Getting back to the self-catering accommodation you kick back on a recliner on the patio and sip South African wine on the patio. (The friendly owner would be able to direct you to the best wine farms and restaurants in the area - so don't hesitate to ask.)
When you finally decide to retire for the night - just remember, this charming wooden house has its creaks when the wind gusts around it! If you leave the windows open you will be able to see a black ocean and sleep with the distant sound of the waves.
The Upperdeck offers self-catering accommodation with breathtaking views from it's hilltop location in Gordon's Bay, South Africa.
