  • The Comrades Marathon is run between Durban and Pietermaritzburg and is the largest road race in Africa and the largest ultra-marathon in the world

Durban Attractions:

  • TIMEWARP SURFING MUSEUM
  • Victoria Embankment and beyond, including the Yacht Mole, the Ocean Terminal Building and the Sugar Terminal, the heart of KwaZulu-Natal's sugar industry
  • Natal Maritime Museum and the Old Court House
  • Indian District, characterized by markets, mosques, temples and well-preserved buildings from the turn of the century.
  • Emmanuel Cathedral.
  • Victoria Street Market, filled with spices, curios and fresh produce.

  • uShaka Marine World

Attractions: dolphin and seal stadia, a penguin habitat and a snorkelling lagoon stocked with coral fish, separated from the shark tank by 20cm thick glass.

Wet ‘n Wild includes a water park with fun rides.

For the less adventurous, relax on the beaches, or let the smaller kids splash in the sparkling pools!

Sea World is one of the 5 largest aquariums in the world.

The centrepiece of uShaka is a 1920 era cargo steamer shipwreck, run aground between rocks and lagoons. The Ship houses two restaurants .

Retail shopping village where enjoy a day of shopping .

Durban's North coast: Ballito Beach, Zinkwazi Beach, Umhlali Beach, Tinley Manor Beach, Thompson's Bay Beach, Sheffield Beach, Shaka's Rock Beach, Salt Rock, Blythedale Beach and Clark Bay.

South Coast: Southport (Anerley), Banana Beach, Bazley Beach, Beach Terminus, Big Tree Beach, Clansthal, Glenmore Beach, Green Point, Margate Beach and Marina Beach to mention a few.

Credit Cards - Most major credit cards are accepted throughout the country.

Tipping - In restaurants, 10% of the bill usually applies, depending on the standard of service provided. Restaurants do not normally include the tip in the bill.
