Have you ever walked into a place and it feels as if someone or something is watching you?

Well, I am not a great believer in such things although I do sometimes feel as if there is something out there that I can't see. My parents live in a very old farmhouse that was built in the 1800s. Outside there are some graves of people that died long ago.

If you walk along the passage or on the stoep you just get a feeling of coldness creeping up your spine. I just refused to walk alone in that passage or go to my room at night.

Well, they got a person that can see the things beyond and she told a very interesting story. Before there was a house built an old man made his camp where the stoep is at the moment and one night a native murdered him in the passage. This story has been verified by people that once lived in the area.

South Africa has its own ghost's tours if you are into that kind of thing. When ever you go to a museum or a very old house the people will always tell you a ghost story or two.

Tours on offer:

  • The Mystery Ghost Bus Tour

MARK ROSE-CHRISTIE presents the unique for corporate, team-building, tourist and private groups a 4 hour luxury bus tour with pub stops, ghosts, poltergeists, castles, science of the paranormal, a dark haunted room, a cemetery and more ...He offers separate Tours in English or Afrikaans and tours in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, National Arts Festival KKNK. To go on one of his tours you stand a change of seeing the face of a boy that appears in one of the hostel's windows at Jeppe Boys High School in Johannesburg.

Their programme includes tours that are well-researched, and are not like a ghost train or haunted house attraction. Their tours offer more than any similar tours world-wide, where instead of too much focus on history, they also introduce you to the science of the parapsychology, the different types of ghosts, audience participation (where you test some paranormal science yourself with some curious apparatus), and entertainment with pub stops along the way - all of which they do in order to try to suit all tastes. But that's not all. You will board a coach and be whisked away into the darkness of the night to hear live stories about the not so alive - ghosts, poltergeists, haunted buildings, castles/forts and more. You will also hear dramatically recorded stories on the bus with scary sound effects and haunted music (including the world-famous Uniondale Hitchhiker). There are also some Off-The-Bus Stops, which due to time constraints are limited.
