This is a multi cultural village that is less than an hour's drive north of Johannesburg. During your stay at Lesedi you can experience the vibrant traditions of the Basotho, Ndebele, Pedi, Xhosa and Zulu people or you could even stay overnight at the Lesedi Cultural Village.

Things to do/see during your visit:

Opportunity to browse an African craft market

Attend a multi visual theatre presentation on the history and origin of South Africa's cultures

A guided tour of four homesteads

Cultural dancing and a pan African feast

You will absolutely love the traditional singing and dancing. Just keep in mind that it is not one hundred percent authentic but it still offers the best place to experience some of South Africas cultures. The experience at Lesedi is eye opening and you will definitely learn a lot about African culture and the people.

Lesedi African Lodge offers two unique day experiences where you can share the excitement and warmth of true rural African culture. There is the morning program at 11H30 this is known as the Monati experience and the late afternoon program at 16H30 known as the Boma experience. Both of these experiences follow the program: You arrive in their car park to a vibrant traditional African welcome and a refreshing welcome drink; then you can browse in the Ndebele village and African craft market where Ndebele murals decorate the walls and courtyard; there is also a multi-visual theatre presentation on the history and origin of the people that lived here; then you are divided into smaller groups and taken on a guided tour of four homesteads - Zulu, Xhosa, Basotho and Pedi; throughout all of this you can have a few drinks in the bar, guests and the families meet back in the Boma for traditional song and dance of all the villages. A Pan African Feast is served in the Nyama Choma restaurant with delicacies from North, East and Southern Africa.
