Marriage is a big step and when one gets married it should definitely be in the right location.

South Africa has great weather, diverse locations and is very affordable!

I would say the following places are definitely on my top 10 list

1. Drakensberg

2. African bushveld

3. Franschhoek

4. Paarl

5. Stellenbosch

6. Table Mountain

7. Irene country Lodge

8. Beaches on the Western cape coast

9. Beaches on the KwaZulu Natal coast

10. Beaches on the Eastern Cape coast

Drakensberg

When it comes to wedding venues, most people aim for romantic venues, interesting attractions and unusual places - the Drakensberg has all of that and more. Any bride will find in the Drakensberg what she is looking for to make her wedding day a fairy tale come true. The Drakensberg caters for all wedding requests. There are many chapels to choose from, rose farms where you can get the perfect rose, florists with flair for beauty, photographers that will go to the top of the Drakensberg for the ideal photo setting. Hairdressers and make-up artists. Even the arrival of the bride at the church can be like no where else, in a horse and carriage, vintage car, helicopter or even a camel. The reception can be at one of the bigger hotels that cater for the delicate tastes of the guest or even a picnic in the mountain.

Franschhoek, Paarl and Stellenbosch

They are all wine estates with many beautiful function rooms available. The beautiful setting of the Cape Dutch architecture and oak trees and vineyard views is an idyllic setting for a marriage.

Beaches

There are many hotels and restaurants that is located close to the beach that offer the perfect solution for those looking to get married on a beach. Just remember to get permission from the local council if you want to get married on a public beach.

Table Mountain

This is definitely Cape Town's most famous landmark. During the day you may see the characteristic tablecloth of cloud which flows over the top of the mountain like steam overflowing a giant pot. At night in summer, you will see the face of the mountain illuminated by a bank of five lights. From the summit there are the most stunning views - of the narrow finger of land running down to Cape Point in the south, of blue hazed mountains of the hinterland, the flanking Devil's Peak and Lion's Head sentinels on either side, the Ocean all around, and the city and its harbour far below. If height is no problem and a once in a lifetime memory of Cape Town is what you are wanting then Table Mountain is the venue for you. Table Mountain as a venue is best between the months of October - April.
